The current swimlane functionality is purely visual. I suggest this enhanced with a possibility to also auto-filter stories for simple conditions. The first one to implement would be “Epic” meaning that swimlanes are created automatically from the Epics that the stories on the Kanban belong to.
Next could be “Issue Type” as already requested here.
Finally, when there is a Kanban board for multiple projects implemented (crossing my fingers) also auto-swimlaning could be done on project.
